Herd In The City Finishes With Charity Auction
A fantastic charity auction concluded Herd In The City on Tuesday night, raising excellent funds for the very worthy Havens Hospices.
Through Atlantic Pacific Group, Unity In Community have very much enjoyed being logistics partners and sponsors of a fantastic summer event.
The auctioning of the elephant statues that adorned the streets of Southend raised a fantastic £180,000, which took the grand total for this year passed £580,000, beating the £508,480 raised in 2021 by Hares About Town.
Our sponsored elephant, created by brilliant local artist Esme Taylor, is now being delivered to the Selfie On Sea store at Southend, and will now start to help fundraising for Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Research.
The final stats for the elephant trail and app were as follows:
- 315,690 sculptures were captured by visitors.
- Each visitor captured 68 of the 118 statues on average.
- 61,853 rewards were collected courtesy of the app.
- 32,717 miles were walked in total on the trail.
- Each visitors averaged 9 miles.
So, this great story comes to an end. Unity and the group have had great fun being part of this fantastic project and are proud to have sponsored it. We’re now looking forward to the next one, hopefully in two years time.
