Participating In Muddy Run For Cancer Research
Gemma Reeve of Unity in Community’s Group partner – Atlantic Pacific Global Logistics – took part in the Pretty Muddy 5K Run last weekend at Trinity Park, Ipswich, to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Part of the ‘Race For Life’ programme being run by the charity, participants climb, crawl and slide their way around ‘Pretty Muddy’ obstacle courses at their own pace – usually in around an hour.
More than 10 million people have taken part in Race for Life events since 1994, raising over £970 million towards life-saving cancer research and helping to develop radiotherapy for over 130,000 people with cancer in the UK every year.
Gemma, who’s group raised £1280 for the worthy cause, said “I had the best time on this run, it was a bit grim having mud thrown all over you or caked into your face, but it was well worth the pay off.”
Adding “a huge thank you to Atlantic Pacific Global Logistics for the donation and the sponsorship, and again, thanks to all of you for any kind words and support you sent through to me over the past few weeks!”.
