Atlantic Pacific Group Celebrates Success of Waddle on Sea Fundraising Trail

Atlantic Pacific Group has welcomed the final impact results from the Waddle on Sea public art trail, confirming the event raised more than £580,000 for hospice care while delivering an estimated £3.8 million boost to the regional economy.

Through its charitable foundation, Unity In Community, alongside Atlantic Pacific Global Logistics, the Group supported the initiative as both Corporate Sponsors and Official Logistics Partners. The project was delivered in collaboration with Havens Hospices, a charity dedicated to providing specialist care and support to people of all ages living with complex or incurable conditions.

The success of Waddle on Sea marks the third time Atlantic Pacific has partnered with Havens Hospices on a large-scale art trail, with each event demonstrating the increasing power and reach of community-led initiatives. These trails not only raise vital funds but also bring together local residents, businesses, and visitors in a shared experience that benefits both the charitable sector and the wider economy.

Christine Nichols, Director at Atlantic Pacific Group, praised the results and the collective effort behind the event:

“It is fantastic to see the final results from Waddle on Sea and the real impact it has delivered. Raising such a significant amount for hospice care, while also generating meaningful economic benefit, is something everyone involved should be incredibly proud of.

As a member of the Southend Tourism Partnership Board, I am equally pleased to see the wider impact recognised. The event brought people into the area, supported local businesses and created a genuinely positive atmosphere. It shows what can be achieved when communities, charities and businesses come together to make a real difference.”

Beyond its fundraising achievements, Waddle on Sea played a vital role in boosting local tourism and economic activity. By attracting visitors to the region, the trail helped increase footfall for local shops, restaurants, and attractions, while fostering a vibrant and inclusive community spirit.

The event stands as a powerful example of how collaborative efforts between businesses, charities, and local communities can deliver lasting social and economic value.
